The people behind {“The Remo”}

Our name derives from the Van Remoortel family. Jozef founded the company in 1989 together with his wife, Frieda Apers. Their daughters An and Els later took over the business, together with Els’s husband, Wim Lannoey.

Els Van Remoortel
Els is Remo’s beating heart. She oversees the company’s finances and looks after the well-being of the team.
Wim Lannoey
Wim is the face of Remo. He talks to the farmers, represents the company at trade shows, and sets the overall course.
An Van Remoortel
An makes sure our potatoes get where they need to be. Transportation, warehousing, and logistics—that’s her domain.

Frieda & Jozef

In the late 1980s, Jozef Van Remoortel and Frieda Apers realised that the farming profession needed to modernise. They laid the foundations for the modern potato processor that Remo is today.

What you need to know about {Remo}

At Remo, we promise the very best potatoes. What that means—and how we deliver on that promise—is explained below.

Our potatoes’ journey

Before you serve potatoes, they have already travelled a long way. And you can take that literally. From the farmer who grows and harvests them, to the conveyor belts that wash them, to our state-of-the-art packaging machines.
