{Our promise}
goes beyond potatoes
We deliver top-quality potatoes. And we do so with respect for nature, farmers, and customers alike. Below, you’ll find how we put that promise into practice.

We stand by what we promise. Every potato that leaves our company has a story of care and respect. From the grower who grows them to the moment they are on your plate. This way, you can be sure you get what you choose: quality without compromise.
We work exclusively with certified farmers (Vegaplan or GLOBALG.A.P.). In addition, we personally visit 30 randomly selected farmers per year. We assess how they manage fertilisers, water, energy, and biodiversity.
We test our potatoes as thoroughly as possible—from the moment they arrive at our facility, throughout the processing stages, all the way to packaging. Because quality starts with control.
We believe in a pure potato. That’s why we exclude salt and other preservatives from our finished products. To preserve flavour, we invest in smart packaging solutions. Fries and lightly pre-cooked potatoes are packaged under a modified atmosphere* (MAP). Pasteurised, fully cooked products are vacuum-packed.
Since 2013, we’ve been recycling potato peels to produce biogas. That biogas is used to generate electricity, which powers our machines.
We invest in the latest machinery, looking for three key advantages: lower energy consumption, less waste, and greater precision.
It all starts with using as little water as possible and reusing as much as possible internally. Remo naturally also has its own water treatment plant. The water we discharge into surface water must comply with the strictest European standards. We closely monitor and adjust its operation and quality on a daily basis.
We use state-of-the-art packaging technologies to minimise waste and energy consumption. Plastic film residues are compacted and recycled. Cardboard and paper are processed separately.
Sustainable transport is the result of many combined efforts. Our drivers receive annual training to reduce fuel consumption and optimise cooling. In addition, we plan routes as efficiently as possible and bundle smaller orders.
We deliberately go for the stringent IFS certification, applying HACCP principles throughout our processes. Need to know more info about certifications? Please fill out the contact form.
HACCP, which stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, is a risk assessment for foodstuffs. Companies involved in the preparation, processing, handling, packaging, transport and distribution of foodstuffs are required to identify all aspects of the production process and analyse them for hazards.
This control process, originating in the European Union, aims to ensure that the production process for all foodstuffs involves as little risk of contamination as possible. As a result, the continuous monitoring and recording of cold stores and freezer rooms, for example, has become mandatory.
The 7 key points of an HACCP system: Identify all potential hazards. Determine the critical control points (CCPs), the points in the process where the risk can be prevented or limited. Specify the critical limits for each CCP.
Determine how the CCPs are monitored. Specify the corrective actions for each CCP that should lead to the restoration of safety. Apply verification, a periodic check to verify that the HACCP approach is working properly. Keep documentation and records. Record what you have changed and how.
In 2003, German and French distributors jointly developed the International Featured Standards (IFS) to enable uniform assessment of suppliers of private label products. IFS is based on HACCP principles and includes requirements in the areas of: Quality and food safety management Production facilities Process and product control Product protection and product integrity Resource management (such as infrastructure and personnel) Measurements, analyses and improvement actions.
At Remo, we promise the very best potatoes. Read below to find out what we mean by that and how we deliver on that promise.
